A poll of Saskatchewan residents shows 71 percent would support the use of private clinics if it would bring down surgical wait times. Of NDP supporters, 40 pecent would support the idea, with 56 percent opposed. Premier Brad Wall, a Saskatchewan Party MLA, says that he is open to using private clinics but under the publicly-funded medicare system.
The poll, conducted by Insightrix research, also shows that a slim majority would support a domed stadium. However, support varies from 66 per cent in Regina to just 41 per cent in Saskatoon.
